Event Store's Highlights from DDDEU 2022

Natasha Waldron  |  28 June 2022

Event Store was a platinum sponsor at this year's DDDEU. The conference offered workshops, hands-on labs, a foundations day, and a jammed-packed conference schedule covering hot topics in software modelling, design strategy, and architecture.

 There were after-event socials at the venue and meet-ups during the lunch breaks. The event offered wholly vegetarian (and amazing) food to help lower its carbon footprint.

Event Store had a busy and exciting exhibition space. Attendees were pinning their hometowns on the Event Store map, it was a great visual to see where people had travelled from. We had attendees as far as Chile and Australia.

We had plenty of swag, attendees could grab some of our exclusive Event Store socks, t-shirts, button badges, and of course, Ouro laptop stickers.

Alexey's talk

Alexey Zimarev's talk 'Event Sourcing as part of the journey towards Data Mesh' was very busy. It wasn't recorded, but we are planning to do a webinar version very soon so keep your eyes open for a release date!

Abstract: Data Mesh promotes the idea of moving from centralised analytics that collects the necessary data from multiple upstream sources using complex data pipelines, to decentralised data products that are supported by domain-centric teams. At Event Store, we promote Event Sourcing as a way to build systems and persist state, where you don’t lose history. We found that domain events share both operational and analytical characteristics, and we’d like to share our ideas about building data products in event-sourced systems.

DDDEU Ticket Winner

Event Store held a raffle for a DDDEU ticket. The lucky winner was Yevhenii Kurtov 🎉. He had this to say about the event;

 DDD Europe is one of the most creative communities in software development, and it's absolutely at the forefront of pushing organisations into the brighter digital future. What you did was fantastic!

Thank you!

It was great meeting new people at the booth and also great friends of Event Store. Thank you so much to everyone for stopping by!

Thank you to Mathias, Anneke, Ricardo, Stijn, and the rest of the Aardling team for a great event! We are looking forward to the next event!
